Beam monitor files 2014 - 2017 runs

The PIC-files are available for the following CERF runs:

October 2014

December 2014

May 2015

October 2015

November 2016

June 2017

August 2017

June 2018 (new!)


Note that the calibration factor is (22000+/-2200) particles per PIC-count (refer to  "Monitoring reactions for the calibration of relativistic hadron beams", A. Ferrari, F. P. La Torre, G. P. Manessi, F. Pozzi and M. Silari, Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A 763, 177-183, 2014).

After having downloaded the *.zip file, extract the files and open the PIC-file using Excel or a text editor, e.g. Emacs. The file has 5 columns:

  1. the time (hh:mm:ss format);
  2. the istantaneous, i.e per second, beam intensity in PIC-count;
  3. the integrated beam intensity in PIC-count (from the beginning of the file);
  4. the instanatenous, i.e. per second, H*(10) measured by the LINUS1,2,3,4 rem counter in position CT4;
  5. the integrated H*(10) (from the beginning of the file) measured by the LINUS rem counter in position CT4.
